Persecution Affects us All

"Wherever any minority is persecuted and marginalised because of its religious convictions or ethnic identity the wellbeing of society as a whole is endangered and each one of us must feel affected." Pope Francis, Address to Delegates from the Simon Wiensthal Centre, 24 October 2013.
Do I feel it more if people of my own religious convictions or ethnic identity are persecuted? What more can I do to show my solidarity with others who are persecuted because of their religious convictions or ethnic identity?
