    I wonder how many priests realize that some women sometimes can’t face Mass on Mothers Day at all?

    Thankyou for sharing your pain and hopes in this post. I really understood where you were coming from as two of our daughters are subject to the same insensitivity and find this day very difficult.
    Supporting them and broadening the concept of motherhood has been a delicate task for me and the carry on at Church when the priest asks all mothers to stand and reads a blessing for them is an issue that sets the day in the wrong direction.
    Your suggestion for change is one I would like to see taking over from the current commercialisation of what was initially a great idea,
    Lets hope it can happen.
    I will be trying to change the local approach at he Church
